The Hyundai ix35, better known as the Tucson, is making a name for itself in the compact SUV market with its recent development as an urban cruiser that has the capabilities to handle rough and versatile travel.

The newest ix35 model was designed in Germany at the Hyundai Design Centre Europe where a clean slate approach was taken, deviating from the two-box off-roader presence and heading towards a more spacious interior and improved fuel economy.

The popular Fluidic Sculpture architecture approach was taken when designing both the interior and exterior resulting in a stylish, sleek and modern feel. There is a four spoke steering wheel that has audio and cruise control systems. The gauges and other electronics are backlit by Hyundai’s trademark blue glow.

The common four-way electric adjustment has been improved to a  six-way adjustment allowing drivers to further customize their driving positions and the electric lumbar support adds a comfortable touch.  With second row armrests, dual cup holders and multiple seating layouts the back seat riders will feel like first class passengers.

There are a total of 19 different storage options, including a luggage screen cover that tightens security and increase privacy for any valuables left in the cargo area.

There are three different trim levels, Active, Elite and the top of the range. Each trim comes with a wide variety of engines and transmissions. Also the option of rear camera, panorama glass roof and iPod integration help this compact SUV stand out in comparison to other SUV’s.

The ix35 also has Vehicle Dynamic Control which aids in the overall stability by detecting and avoiding skids. There is a downhill brake control and hill-start assist control which allows the car to maintain a responsible speed on steep declines without the vehicle using the brake and the hill-start helps the driver on slippery hills so that they do not roll backwards. Another useful safety feature is the emergency stop signal which will automatically trigger the emergency hazard lights when there is a panic stop.
