Our cars carry all kinds of extremely precious cargo. Sometimes we load them up with our favorite groceries especially those fragile eggs. We also transport our valuables like that ultra-thin antique crystal vase from great grandmother that was in the family since the American Revolution. And there is also precious live cargo the adorable canine companion and of course irreplaceable friends, family, and ourselves. Driving can be very dangerous and we must do whatever we can to protect ourselves. Thankfully Hyundai offers six models, the all-new Hyundai Elantra, Sonata, Genesis, Equus, Tucson and Santa Fe, that received the 2012 Top Safety Pick honor from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The Top Safety Pick honor recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rollover, and rear crashes based on “good” ratings in Institute tests. Winners must also have available Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a crash avoidance feature that significantly reduces crash risk. The IIHS Top Safety Pick ratings inform consumers about vehicles that offer a higher level of protection than federal safety standards require.

Safety has always been a top priority at Hyundai. They led the industry in standardizing Electronic Stability Control for the midsize sedan segment back in 2005. Hyundai is always researching and developing ways it can provide the best passive and active safety technologies for its customers. Hyundai sincerely cares about the people driving and riding in their cars that when you are looking into purchasing or leasing a car Hyundai has to be the top choice for Kansas City new car of the year.
